Han So-hee's Mother Accused of Fraud Involving 85 Million Won Using Daughter's Real-Name Account (Entertainment President)
[Asia Economy Online Issue Team] Actress Han So-hee's mother has been sued on fraud charges.
YouTuber Lee Jin-ho posted a video titled "Unfair Han So-hee... Why the Shocking Family Tragedy?" on his YouTube channel 'Entertainment Vice President Lee Jin-ho'.
According to a JTBC report on the 2nd, a famous celebrity's mother, Ms. A, is accused of borrowing a total of 85 million won from an acquaintance from February 2018 to September 2018 by promising to pay 2 million won monthly but failing to repay it.
Regarding this, Lee Jin-ho stated, "The famous celebrity mentioned here was none other than Han So-hee. The defendant, Ms. Shin (Ms. A), is Han So-hee's mother."
According to Lee Jin-ho's claim, not only Ms. A but also Han So-hee was sued for violating the Electronic Financial Transactions Act. Lee Jin-ho said, "Han So-hee's mother used Han So-hee's real-name bank account during the borrowing process," adding, "As Ms. A was sued on fraud charges for failing to repay the borrowed money, Han So-hee was also supposed to be punished for violating the Electronic Financial Transactions Act."
In an interview with Lee Jin-ho, Ms. A claimed, "(Han So-hee) was a minor, so in the past, the mother could create (the bankbook). So I made it and kept it after she (Han So-hee) lost it, but then I couldn't use my bankbook. So I used it for a few months and then stopped."
It is known that both the complainant and defendant Ms. A showed differences in opinion regarding the repayment amount due to not having a separate loan agreement. In the interview with Lee Jin-ho, Ms. A expressed her intention, saying, "I struggled to gather 55 million won after borrowing money. I want to repay it," but the complainant side is reportedly demanding 100 million won as a settlement.
Ms. A said, "It is my fault for borrowing money from people and not repaying it properly on time," adding, "I will work hard to repay without applying for personal rehabilitation or bankruptcy."
Meanwhile, Han So-hee was also caught up in her mother's debt controversy in July 2020. At that time, Han So-hee stated, "I learned about my mother's debts after I turned 20, and as a dutiful child, I repaid my mother's debts as much as I could even before my debut," adding, "Through contacts from debtors, I found out that my mother borrowed money using my name and activities as a shield and did not repay it."
