60s Man Sent to Prosecution for Beating Witness's Neck in Court Over Disagreeing Testimony
[Asia Economy Yeongnam Reporting Headquarters Reporter Kim Yong-woo] A man in his 60s accused of assaulting a witness in the courtroom has been referred to the prosecution.
Daegu Seongseo Police Station announced on the 4th that it handed over the case of Mr. A to the prosecution on the 27th of last month for punching the back of the neck of a witness who was leaving the courtroom at the Daegu District Court Western Branch after testifying.
Mr. B, who was hit by the punch thrown by Mr. A, reportedly lost consciousness and collapsed, and was taken to a nearby hospital.
At the time, the trial was the third hearing for four people, including the former chairman of the Daegu Dyeing Industrial Complex, who were on trial for charges including breach of trust, and Mr. B appeared as a witness to prove their charges.
