Changwon City Invests Over 7.7 Billion Won in 2022 Dream Start and All-Day Care Projects
Dream Start 30 Programs, 88 Care Service Sites in Operation
[Asia Economy Yeongnam Reporting Headquarters Reporter Lee Seryeong] Changwon City, Gyeongnam Province, is set to actively implement the 2022 Dream Start Project, All-Day Care Project, and Annual Project Implementation Plan.
Dream Start previously handled all child-related tasks including child-friendly initiatives, child allowances, and all-day care, but since January, a new child-friendly division has been established, transferring all child-friendly and child-related tasks.
Dream Start is now responsible for ▲case management of vulnerable children ▲discovery of community resources ▲all-day care project ▲support for operating expenses of community child centers ▲Dream Start projects and all-day care projects such as Together Care Centers and Our Village Child Care Centers.
The Dream Start project provides integrated case management for vulnerable children under the age of 12, where case managers evaluate the caregiving environment and child development to offer customized programs tailored to each child's characteristics, linking with community resources to create a healthy caregiving environment.
With a budget of 510 million KRW this year, 30 projects across 4 areas will be implemented for vulnerable children, offering 6 programs in physical and health, 8 in cognitive and language, 6 in emotional and behavioral, and 10 in parent and family support.
To establish a foundation for elementary care projects, a budget of 7.287 billion KRW will be used to support operating expenses for 81 community child centers, 4 Together Care Centers, and 3 Our Village Child Care Centers.
The all-day care project provides care services outside of regular school hours to eliminate care blind spots for elementary students and reduce childcare burdens on parents.
Located in accessible community idle spaces such as apartment residents' communal living facilities and small libraries, children can receive temporary and emergency care services including learning, specialized programs in culture, arts, and sports, care counseling and service linkage, and snack provision.
