Gwangju Gwangsan Fire Station Conducts Special Training for Manhole Accident Preparedness
[Asia Economy Honam Reporting Headquarters Reporter Yoon Jamin] Gwangju Gwangsan Fire Station (Chief Song Seonghun) announced on the 2nd that it conducted a special rescue training for manhole accidents.
The training was conducted for rescue team members to identify various types of accidents that can occur at manhole accident sites, which are narrow and confined spaces, and to strengthen on-site response capabilities.
The training included ▲familiarization with the standard operating procedure manual for disaster sites ▲installation of manhole rescue equipment and life-saving training ▲proficiency training with manhole rescue equipment ▲sharing and analysis of manhole safety accident cases.
Additionally, personal safety was ensured by checking toxic gas and oxygen levels in preparation for the presence of harmful gases during rescue operations in confined spaces, ventilating confined spaces, and wearing protective gear such as self-contained breathing apparatus.
