[Exclusive] 'Dismissed' Kim Tae-ju, Former Tax Policy Office Chief, Appointed as Chairman of Saemaeul Geumgo Central Association's Audit Committee
[Asia Economy Reporters Byungseon Gong, Seungseop Song] It has been confirmed that Kim Taeju, former head of the Tax System Office who resigned on the 27th of last month, has been appointed as the Chairperson of the Supervisory Committee of the National Credit Union Federation of Korea.
According to financial sector and government officials on the 28th, former head Kim has decided to take the position of Chairperson of the Supervisory Committee at the National Credit Union Federation of Korea. Kim resigned on the 27th of last month, taking responsibility for the failure to predict tax revenue, as additional tax revenue compared to the second supplementary budget of last year reached 30 trillion won.
According to current law, when a public official of grade 4 or higher retires, unless they pass the employment review by the Public Officials Ethics Committee, they cannot be employed for three years in departments or institutions related to the work they performed in the five years prior to retirement. However, the National Credit Union Federation of Korea is a cooperative and is not subject to the Public Officials Ethics Act.
