'Squid Game' Lee Jung-jae and Jung Ho-yeon Win Male and Female Lead Actor Awards at SAG Awards (Summary)
[Asia Economy Reporter Seo Mideum] Actors Lee Jung-jae and Jung Ho-yeon, who starred in Netflix's Korean drama "Ojingeo Game" (Squid Game), won the male and female lead awards respectively at the Screen Actors Guild (SAG) Awards on the 27th (local time).
Lee Jung-jae received the Outstanding Performance by a Male Actor in a Drama Series award, and Jung Ho-yeon won the Outstanding Performance by a Female Actor in a Drama Series award at the SAG Awards ceremony held at the Barker Hangar event hall in Santa Monica, Los Angeles (LA), USA.
This is the first time Korean actors have won the SAG male and female lead awards for TV drama performances. It is also the first time actors from a non-English language drama have received acting awards from the American actors' guild.
Previously, "Ojingeo Game" won the stunt award after competing against "Cobra Kai," "The Falcon and the Winter Soldier," "Loki," and "Mare of Easttown." The stunt ensemble category honors the best action performances by productions and actors.
