Kolon FnC to Foster WAAC as a Global Brand... Spun Off as a Subsidiary
[Asia Economy Reporter Song Seung-yoon] Kolon Industries FnC division's golf wear brand ‘WAAC’ has embarked on full-scale overseas business.
According to the industry on the 28th, WAAC, which entered Japan in 2019, signed a license agreement with Japan's textile and apparel specialist company ‘TAKIHYO’ in 2020 and officially started its overseas business. Currently, it operates eight stores including Shinjuku in Tokyo, and plans to expand to 15 stores within the year. In China, it entered the premium golf select shop ‘S+G’ in Beijing SKP Department Store in October last year and operates five on-course stores including the Shenzhen Mission Hills Clubhouse. WAAC plans to expand its stores to 10 in China within the year.
Additionally, it is partnering with ‘WGS (Worldwide Golf Shop)’, the second-largest golf specialty retailer in the United States. From April, WAAC products will be available at eight stores and online shopping malls in the U.S. Besides Japan, China, and the U.S., it is also considering expansion into other Asian regions.
Kolon FnC will separate the WAAC business division into a subsidiary of Kolon Industries to actively promote WAAC's overseas expansion. This is a measure for quick decision-making and cooperation with overseas partnerships and efficient management.
