[Asia Economy Reporter Park Jong-il] Gangnam-gu (District Mayor Jung Soon-gyun) will open the ‘Ilwon Sports Culture Center,’ equipped with sports, learning, and play facilities accessible to people of all ages, including an English library and childcare services, on March 2.
The center, built on a total floor area of 9,682㎡ with three basement levels and one above ground, was constructed through a donation from the redevelopment project of Gaepo 8 Complex. The district invested 5.5 billion KRW to create six facilities.
A sports center featuring racquetball courts, basketball courts, and climbing walls has been established, and the district’s first English library, ‘Ilwon Raon English Library,’ will house around 20,000 English books.
The third indoor children’s playground in Gangnam-gu has opened, and the Nuribom Together Care Center provides childcare services for elementary school students. The Lifelong Learning Center offers over 60 courses for adults, while the Future Education Center provides 4th Industrial Revolution education for youth.
On the opening day, the sports facilities and English library will open, with other facilities opening sequentially. The Future Education Center’s project was finalized last December and is scheduled to open in May.
Operational status of each facility can be checked on the Gangnam-gu official website.
