LG Uplus Operates 5G Service Demonstration Zone at 'MWC2022'
Export Consultations with Over 20 Global Companies Including European and Middle Eastern Mobile Carriers

View original image[Asia Economy Reporter Lim Hye-sun] LG Uplus announced on the 27th that it will showcase 'K-Content' at 'MWC Barcelona 2022,' held in Barcelona, Spain, starting on the 28th.
With the theme of 'Connectivity Unleashed,' this MWC is scheduled to feature exhibitions from global companies related to 5G, Artificial Intelligence (AI), Big Data, and the Internet of Things (IoT). At MWC Barcelona 2022, LG Uplus plans to explore business collaboration opportunities with big tech companies leading the cloud transition of 5G network infrastructure and the Metaverse.
LG Uplus will operate a meeting space for buyers and a 5G service demonstration zone featuring Extended Reality (XR) content at the exhibition hall. In the demonstration zone, over 3,000 pieces of content across various fields such as virtual reality (VR) and augmented reality (AR) movies and performances, travel, webtoons, games, and education will be showcased through the U+DIVE application, which was launched last November.
In particular, U+IdolLive, which allows users to enjoy K-pop content that is gaining worldwide popularity, is expected to attract significant attention.
Additionally, since the commercialization of 5G in 2019, U+5G services and content have been involved in export consultations with more than 20 companies worldwide, including mobile carriers in Europe and the Middle East.

So far, LG Uplus has exported 5G services and content worth a cumulative total of $23,000 to companies such as China Telecom in China, PCCW in Hong Kong, KDDI in Japan, Chunghwa Telecom in Taiwan, AIS in Thailand, and Celcom in Malaysia.
