Stabbing Murder in Residential Area of Mapo-gu... Police Apply for Arrest Warrant
[Asia Economy Reporter Oh Gyumin] The police have applied for an arrest warrant for a man in his 50s who killed a male in a residential area of Mapo-gu, Seoul.
The Seoul Mapo Police Station announced on the 23rd that they applied for an arrest warrant on charges of murder against a man in his 50s, Mr. A.
According to the police, Mr. A is suspected of stabbing a man in his 40s with a weapon in a residential area of Sangam-dong, Mapo-gu, at around 6:35 p.m. on the 22nd, causing his death. The police arrived within three minutes after receiving a report from the victim but found him already deceased.
Subsequently, the police tracked Mr. A based on nearby closed-circuit television (CCTV) footage and made an emergency arrest near Mr. A's residence in Incheon at around 11:56 p.m. At the time, Mr. A was intoxicated but reportedly admitted to the crime.

A police official stated, "Since the suspect's statement is the only information available, including the motive for the crime, it will be confirmed through further investigation."
