Gwangju Seo-gu Selects 3 'Active Administration Outstanding Public Officials' in Second Half of Last Year
[Asia Economy Honam Reporting Headquarters Reporter Shin Dong-ho] Seo-gu, Gwangju Metropolitan City selected three 'Excellent Public Officials for Proactive Administration in the Second Half of 2021' on the 21st.
According to Seo-gu on the 23rd, the selection of excellent public officials was conducted by first using the Seo-gu policy proposal platform 'Seo-gu Toktok' for a first round of employee and resident surveys on a total of 11 excellent cases recommended by departments, followed by a second round of deliberation by the Proactive Administration Committee (hereafter the Committee).
The Committee comprehensively considered factors such as resident perception, creativity and expertise, task importance, and potential for dissemination, resulting in the selection of three excellent public officials for proactive administration.
Yoo Jun-hwa, a public official in the Traffic Guidance Division who received the highest grade, made significant contributions to resolving Seo-gu's parking difficulties by fundamentally addressing the issue. During last year's steel rebar shortage, he directly identified suppliers capable of providing rebar and visited the Ministry of Land, Infrastructure and Transport multiple times to obtain approval for extending the project period for delayed projects, thereby greatly alleviating the parking inconvenience experienced by citizens through proactive administration.
Park Soo-jin, a public official in the Cleaning Administration Division who received the excellent grade, was evaluated for actively persuading the owner to agree to the sale of the facility management corporation site, which faced strong opposition as an undesirable facility, and for obtaining approval for the 'Shared Property Management Plan Amendment' that had been deferred or unprocessed three times, thereby securing expertise in the district's cleaning sector and ensuring stable service provision following the establishment of the facility management corporation.
Wi Hee-young, a public official in the Welfare Benefits Division who received the encouragement grade, led the decision to provide relief supplies funds in cash for the first time among the five district offices in Gwangju to address difficulties in supply procurement due to the increase in self-quarantined individuals and the increased fatigue of staff, resulting in improved satisfaction among self-quarantined individuals and reduced workload for employees.
The three excellent public officials selected in this way will receive incentives such as special leave, additional points reflected in work performance evaluations, and monetary rewards newly added this year to promote a culture of proactive administration.
A Seo-gu official stated, "In the prolonged COVID-19 pandemic lasting over two years and amid various disaster crises, we will further spread the culture of proactive administration among public officials to enhance the convenience of residents experiencing difficulties in the local economy."
