As his first schedule of the day, Candidate Yoon paid respects at Solmoe Holy Site, the birthplace of Father Kim Dae-geon, Korea's first priest. Later, during a meeting with reporters, Yoon said, "In the past, I attended weekend Mass for a considerable period at Myeongdong Cathedral as my parish," adding, "I still remember that when listening to the priests' detailed sermons, they said the spirit of Christ lies in resurrection through philanthropy and dedication."
On the 8th day of his official election campaign, Candidate Yoon focused on the 'West Coast Belt,' covering Chungnam and Honam regions, pledging national unity and revitalization of the regional economy. On this day, Yoon began his on-site campaign tour of the West Coast area, visiting Dangjin, Seosan, Hongseong, and Boryeong in Chungnam, followed by Gunsan and Iksan in Jeonbuk. He is expected to intensify his campaign in the Honam region, including Mokpo and Sinan, on the following day, the 23rd.
Yoon plans to appeal for support while touring Dangjin, Seosan, Naepo, and Boryeong areas. The strategy is to induce consolidation of conservative support in these regions where such backing is weak through on-site campaigning.
Candidate Yoon will also mention specific pledges. In Dangjin, he plans to announce the completion of the Seokmun National Industrial Complex, spanning 3.6 million pyeong, and the promotion of the construction of the Second West Sea Bridge, aiming to make the Asan-Dangjin-Seosan belt the center of the West Coast era. Additionally, he will propose building Chungnam Airport to activate the tourism industry, relocating public institutions related to carbon neutrality to Hongseong, and measures to revive the Boryeong Mud Festival.
Earlier, Yoon identified Chungcheong as his roots and has been working to expand his support base there. Yoon belongs to the Papyeong Yoon clan, which has a settlement village in Nonsan, Chungnam, and his father is also from Chungnam. Previously, Yoon said, "The choice of Chungcheong has always been the choice of Korea. I will definitely win the presidential election next March and firmly establish the pride and honor of Chungcheong people."
In the afternoon, he will move to Jeonbuk first during his Honam region schedule. This is already the third time this month that Candidate Yoon visits the Honam region. He will visit Gunsan Public Market to meet merchants. Visiting Gunsan, the only port city in Jeonbuk, he promises to break regional politics and declares his intention to become a unifying president. He will reiterate his previous pledge to develop Gunsan, Gimje, and Buan into the 'Saemangeum Mega City' and designate Saemangeum as an international investment promotion organization to develop it into a new hub in Northeast Asia. In Iksan, he plans to properly promote pledges to expand the second phase of the National Food Cluster, establish a Food Tech R&D hub, and build a domestic agro-food business center.

On the 23rd, he will visit Mokpo and Sinan in Jeonnam. Notably, he plans to visit Haewido in Sinan County, Jeonnam, the birthplace of the late former President Kim Dae-jung. This move is interpreted as a gesture mindful of the special support from Honam voters toward the late President Kim.
