[Asia Economy New York=Special Correspondent Joselgina] Amid escalating fears that Russia's invasion of Ukraine could become a reality "within days," a summit between U.S. President Joe Biden and Russian President Vladimir Putin has been arranged.
The White House confirmed this on the 20th (local time) through a statement by spokesperson Jen Psaki, shortly after the French ?lys?e Palace announced the arrangement of the U.S.-Russia summit.
Spokesperson Psaki stated, "As President Biden has repeatedly emphasized, diplomacy will be pursued up until the very moment the invasion begins," adding, "President Biden has, in principle, accepted a meeting with President Putin if the (Russian invasion of Ukraine) does not occur. We are always ready to engage in diplomacy."
