Government Supports Employment for 4,000 Workers in the Sports Facility Industry
444 Billion Won Invested... Outdoor Sports Facilities Also Included as Beneficiaries
The Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism and the Korea Sports Promotion Foundation announced on the 21st that they will invest 44.4 billion KRW to support the employment of 4,000 workers in the sports facility industry. This is a follow-up project to support employment in indoor sports facilities. The plan is to overcome the employment crisis in the sports facility industry by expanding the target group and increasing the support amount. The targets include not only indoor sports facilities but also outdoor sports facilities such as futsal courts and baseball fields. When hiring new employees such as trainers, school bus drivers, and office staff, they can receive support of up to 1.6 million KRW per month for up to six months (up to three people). However, registered sports facilities under the Sports Facilities Act (golf courses, ski resorts, automobile racing tracks) are excluded from the target.
