This is 7,533 fewer than the 91,557 cases recorded at the same time the previous day.
Although the number decreased compared to the day before, it has significantly increased compared to just one or two weeks ago. Typically, the number of diagnostic tests and new confirmed cases tends to decrease over the weekend, but due to the recent spread of the Omicron variant, infections have been spreading everywhere, effectively eliminating the weekend effect. Compared to the same time one week ago, the number is 1.8 times higher, and compared to two weeks ago, it is 3.5 times higher.
In the metropolitan area, just over half, 46,869 cases, were newly confirmed, while 37,155 cases were added in non-metropolitan areas. The average daily number of confirmed cases over the past week is 87,461.
