Actor Son Byung-ho declared his support for Lee Jae-myung, the presidential candidate of the Democratic Party of Korea.

[Asia Economy Reporter Hwang Sumi] Actor Son Byungho has declared his support for Lee Jae-myung, the presidential candidate of the Democratic Party of Korea.
On the 19th, Son Byungho stated, "For the country and for all of us, I support candidate Lee Jae-myung," adding, "He is the only candidate who can share the world I dream of."
Son said, "Actually, I have had political convictions for a long time," and "I want a world with common sense." He continued, "I think we need a broad-minded person who at least understands the difficulties of living in this world and knows how to embrace many aspects of life," and "In that sense, I support candidate Lee."
Regarding candidate Lee, Son Byungho evaluated him as "having many weaknesses but continuously changing and evolving," and "a person who acts rather than just talks."
He added, "Candidate Lee stands up for the weak and does not collude with the strong," emphasizing, "He does not ignore those who may be a little less capable." He also said, "Above all, he is the only person strong in crises and a sincere person who does not overlook even the smallest helping hand."
Candidate Lee expressed his gratitude toward Son Byungho, who publicly supported him.
Through his Facebook on the same day, he said, "Like actor Son, I also dream of a world where ordinary common sense lives," and "I will continue to run toward a new world so that you can take pride in confidently shouting 'Lee Jae-myung.'"
He also said, "I offer infinite thanks to the actor who courageously stepped forward."
Meanwhile, ahead of the presidential election on March 9, declarations of support from cultural artists and athletes for specific candidates are continuing.
One hundred eighty-four cultural artists, including actors Kim Eui-sung and Lee Ki-young, released a joint statement supporting candidate Lee. Gymnastics silver medalist Yeo Hong-chul and wrestling gold medalist Shim Kwon-ho also signed the support statement. Additionally, Shin Dae-cheol, leader and guitarist of the group Sinawe, singer Lee Eun-mi, and composer Yoon Il-sang directly participated in candidate Lee’s campaign.
