Sejong-si Supports Purchase of 1,010 Eco-Friendly Vehicles Including Electric and Hydrogen Cars
[Asia Economy (Sejong) Reporter Jeong Il-woong] Sejong City announced that it will implement a purchase subsidy program for 1,010 eco-friendly vehicles, including electric cars and hydrogen cars, starting from the 23rd.
The number of supported vehicles by type is 910 electric cars and 100 hydrogen cars. The city increased the number of supported vehicles by 353 this year compared to 657 last year.
Subsidy applications will be accepted twice, in the first and second halves of the year. Among these, 700 vehicles will be accepted in the first half, when demand is concentrated, and the remaining 310 vehicles in the second half will be supplied from July, including any unused quota from the first half.
The subsidy amounts by major vehicle type are up to 9 million KRW for general passenger electric cars, up to 18 million KRW for 1-ton electric cargo trucks, and 32.5 million KRW for hydrogen cars.
This year, the city will also work on establishing an eco-friendly public transportation system. It will supply 67 electric taxis and 20 electric buses for the first time and gradually increase the number of vehicles supplied.

Park Pan-gyu, head of the city’s Environmental Policy Division, said, “This year, we have significantly expanded the number of eco-friendly vehicles supplied to meet purchase demand. The city will lead the opening of the eco-friendly vehicle era by expanding the types of vehicles supplied and establishing charging infrastructure early.”
