Lee Jae-myung on Yeosu Explosion Accident: "Regrettable... Condolences to the Deceased"
[Asia Economy Reporter Baek Kyunghwan] Lee Jae-myung, the presidential candidate of the Democratic Party of Korea, expressed on the 11th his condolences regarding the explosion accident at the petrochemical plant in Yeosu Industrial Complex, saying, "This is truly tragic news. I pray for the souls of those who lost their lives in the accident." Around 9:26 a.m. that day, an explosion occurred at YNCC (Yeocheon NCC) Plant 3 in Hwachi-dong, Yeosu Industrial Complex, Jeollanam-do. Among the eight workers on site, four died, and four were seriously or moderately injured and were transported to nearby hospitals.
Candidate Lee shared related articles on Twitter, stating, "I extend my condolences to the bereaved families." He added, "I also wish for the speedy recovery of those injured," and emphasized, "I request the authorities to take swift measures to prevent further damage."
