Gwangju Metropolitan Office of Education Announces Final Passers of 80 Candidates for Public Secondary School Teacher Appointment Exam
[Asia Economy Honam Reporting Headquarters Reporter Cho Hyung-joo] A total of 80 candidates have been finally selected in the 2022 academic year Gwangju area public middle school teacher candidate selection competitive examination.
According to the Gwangju Metropolitan Office of Education on the 11th, the successful candidates were announced the day before through the Office of Education's website and the NEIS faculty online recruitment system.
This public middle school teacher appointment exam had a total of 780 applicants across 23 subjects. Candidates were selected through a two-stage screening process: the first exam (education theory and major subjects) and the second exam (practical skills, teaching demonstration, and in-depth interview on teacher aptitude).
The overall gender ratio of successful candidates was 73.75% female (59 people) and 26.25% male (21 people), with the male ratio increasing by 3.7% compared to the previous year.
Meanwhile, the age distribution of successful candidates was 54 people in their 20s (67.5%), 19 people in their 30s (23.8%), 6 people in their 40s (7.5%), and 1 person in their 50s (1.2%). The oldest successful candidate was 51 years old, and the youngest was 22 years old.

The final successful candidates will undergo training for newly appointed teachers from the 14th to the 23rd and will be sequentially assigned to schools at all levels starting from March 1.
