"Intern Tamkobots, Delivery Has Arrived" Courtyard Times Square Hotel Robot Delivery Service Operation
[Asia Economy Reporter Jeon Jinyoung] The Courtyard Marriott Seoul Times Square Hotel, located in Yeongdeungpo Times Square, announced on the 11th that it will operate an autonomous driving robot intern employee called ‘Tamkobots’ in collaboration with Robotis. The product deployed in the hotel is Robotis’s indoor autonomous driving robot ‘Jipgaemi,’ which will undergo a one-month pilot operation before officially launching the hotel delivery service from the end of February.
The robot Jipgaemi can deliver items such as bottled water and towels directly to guest rooms on behalf of people. When a staff member inputs the destination in the hotel lobby, the robot recognizes obstacles and automatically generates a route to the guest room.
In particular, among autonomous driving robots, it is the first in Korea to be equipped with a robotic arm, enabling button operation, card tagging, and room knocking without separate communication devices. It can freely move between floors by directly operating elevator buttons without human assistance, and upon arrival at the guest room, it can ring the doorbell to call the guest.
The robotic arm function is not only convenient to operate but also economically effective. Existing indoor service robots require separate communication equipment and system construction for elevator integration to move between floors, which entails high costs. However, Jipgaemi equipped with a robotic arm can go directly to the site while maintaining the existing infrastructure.

The delivery robot is scheduled to provide 24-hour delivery service between the 5th and 16th floors of the hotel, offering everything from guest-exclusive room supplies to various F&B services. Starting in March, an event will run for about six months, providing generous benefits to guests who leave certification photos of using the robot service.
