Gwangju Gwangsan-gu Council Completes Formation of 'Personnel Committee'

[Asia Economy Honam Reporting Headquarters Reporter Yoon Jamin] The Gwangsan District Council of Gwangju Metropolitan City (Chairman Lee Young-hoon) has formed a personnel committee and held an appointment ceremony along with the review of its first agenda.
According to the Gwangsan District Council on the 9th, following the enforcement of the fully revised Local Autonomy Act from the 13th of last month, the appointing authority for council-affiliated staff has changed to the chairperson of the local council, enabling independent personnel management.
The Gwangsan District Council appointed 12 personnel committee members, including external experts in law, administration, and human resources, completing the formation of the personnel committee.
The personnel committee conducts prior reviews on matters related to personnel such as recruitment, promotion, and disciplinary actions of the council secretariat staff to ensure fair and objective personnel management. The term of office is three years.
Immediately after the appointment certificate ceremony, the committee members held a meeting and began full-scale activities, including reviewing the 2022 civil servant recruitment plan.
