Samsung Bio Wins All 6 Categories at CMO Leadership Awards
[Asia Economy Reporter Chunhee Lee] Samsung Biologics has been recognized as a world-class CMO company by winning awards in all evaluation categories at the '2022 Contract Manufacturing Organization (CMO) Leadership Awards.'
Samsung Biologics announced on the 8th that it won awards in all six evaluation categories at the 2022 CMO Leadership Awards. With this award, Samsung Biologics has succeeded in winning for nine consecutive years since receiving the productivity award in 2013, gaining recognition for its world-class biopharmaceutical CMO capabilities even amid the COVID-19 pandemic.
Based on its global supply chain management system, Samsung Biologics rapidly and stably produced COVID-19 antibody therapeutics developed by global pharmaceutical companies such as AstraZeneca, Eli Lilly, and GlaxoSmithKline (GSK). Additionally, for Moderna's COVID-19 vaccine drug product (DP) CMO, the company shortened the average period from technology transfer to verification batch production from six months to 2-3 months, advancing the vaccine shipment schedule by about four months earlier than initially expected, thereby contributing to the supply of COVID-19 vaccines and therapeutics.
The CMO Leadership Awards is a globally prestigious CMO industry award ceremony held annually since 2012 by the U.S. life sciences magazine 'Life Science Leader' and the pharmaceutical and bio industry research institute 'Industry Standard Research (ISR).' Notably, customers who directly participated in projects evaluate the candidates, making it an award that well reflects the voices of customers and the industry.
