On the 7th, at the Capital Indoor Stadium in Beijing, China, Hwang Daeheon crossed the finish line first in Heat 4 of the men's 1000m short track quarterfinals with a time of 1 minute 24.71 seconds. In Heat 1, Park Janghyuk collided with Italy's Pietro Sighel, who aggressively cut into the inside lane with three laps remaining.
