Gyeonggi-do Provides 'Infectious Disease Management Training' for Daycare Centers
[Asia Economy (Suwon) = Reporter Lee Young-gyu] On the 7th, Gyeonggi Province conducted non-face-to-face online infectious disease management training for daycare center administrators in the province due to the rapid increase in COVID-19 patients caused by the spread of the Omicron variant.
Gyeonggi Province announced that, with the cooperation of the provincial Infectious Disease Management Support Group, it provided online education to about 150 key daycare center administrators in the province on ▲ the meaning and countermeasures of variant viruses ▲ methods of managing variant viruses ▲ and response methods in case of occurrence.
For daycare center administrators who could not participate in the online training, the province plans to produce the training materials as videos and distribute them through the Gyeonggi Lifelong Learning Portal (GSEEK) and other platforms.
A provincial official stated, "We expect that this training will strengthen the capacity to respond to infectious diseases such as COVID-19."

Meanwhile, to prevent infection and spread among infants, young children, and childcare staff, the province has requested support for self-testing kits for daycare centers (to the Ministry of Health and Welfare) and sent additional vaccination guidance letters to parents of children enrolled in daycare centers.
