[Asia Economy Reporter Song Seung-yoon] Former Ourhome Vice Chairman Koo Bon-sung has announced his intention to sell all his shares and completely withdraw from management.
On the 7th, former Vice Chairman Koo issued a statement through his legal representative, saying, "I believe that the normal management of Ourhome and family harmony come first, so I intend to sell all my shares and completely step down from management."
Former Vice Chairman Koo holds 38.6% of Ourhome's shares. The remaining 59.6% is the combined shares of the three sisters Koo Mi-hyun, Myung-jin, and Ji-eun. Along with an apology to customers regarding the recent embezzlement and breach of trust allegations and family disputes, former Vice Chairman Koo stated that he will sell all these shares so that Vice Chairman Koo Ji-eun can focus on management.
Earlier, former Vice Chairman Koo was indicted for retaliatory driving, damaging another vehicle, and assaulting the driver who got out. In June last year, he was sentenced to six months in prison with a two-year probation in the first trial. Subsequently, the board held a meeting and passed a dismissal motion, leading to his resignation as CEO. At that time, the three sisters, among the one son and three daughters of Ourhome founder former Chairman Koo Ja-hak, united to pass the dismissal motion against former Vice Chairman Koo. The youngest sister, current Vice Chairman Koo Ji-eun, took over as CEO.
