Jeonnam Fire Department Strengthens 119 Ambulance Transport System, Hires 112 Fixed-term Workers
[Asia Economy Honam Reporting Headquarters Reporter Yoon Jamin] Jeonnam Fire Headquarters (Chief Kim Joil) is hiring 112 temporary workers to strengthen the 119 ambulance transport system in preparation for the rapid spread of Omicron.
According to Jeonnam Fire on the 3rd, the temporary workers will include 108 119 paramedics and 4 personnel for the Ambulance Situation Management Center, who will work temporarily for six months from the date of hiring, with the possibility of extension depending on the COVID-19 situation.
Applicants must be between 20 and 40 years old and hold a nurse license or a Level 1 emergency medical technician (EMT) qualification, or be scheduled to receive a related license (qualification).
The application period is from the 9th to the 11th of this month, and submission of application forms, resumes, and other required documents can be made via email to the Jeonnam Fire Headquarters Rescue and Ambulance Division contact person.
The hiring process will take place throughout this month, followed by practical training, and from next month, the hired personnel will be assigned to 18 fire stations’ 119 Safety Centers and 119 Comprehensive Situation Rooms across the province to assist with transporting COVID-19 confirmed patients and managing ambulance situations.

Jeonnam Fire plans to additionally operate 18 reserve ambulance teams in response to the recent increase in patient transport demand, and the hiring of temporary workers through the National Fire Agency’s government-funded project is expected to greatly strengthen the existing ambulance transport system.
