According to the People Power Party on the 6th, candidate Yoon headed to Gwangju to pay respects at the National May 18th Democratic Cemetery. He then visited the site of the apartment construction collapse accident in Gwangju, followed by attending the Gwangju Election Countermeasures Committee's Victory Resolution Rally.
The election headquarters explained Yoon's visit to Gwangju, saying, "While paying respects at the May 18th Democratic Cemetery, we will reaffirm that 'the spirit of democracy in Gwangju is the spirit of all of South Korea' and express respect and remembrance for the spirits of the May 18th Democratic Movement." They added, "At the final Victory Resolution Rally of the election headquarters held in Gwangju, the last of the 17 metropolitan and provincial headquarters, we will strengthen the will for regime change and national unity to be completed in Gwangju and Honam."
Earlier, before the Lunar New Year holiday, candidate Yoon sent handwritten letters to 2.3 million households in Honam. In the letter, Yoon stated, "The concerns of Honam encompass not only the wounds from resisting dictatorship but also issues related to industry, jobs, and the future." He emphasized, "I intend not only to reflect on the mistakes of conservative parties regarding May Gwangju but also to walk together toward Honam's future." He also said, "I believe that every vote given to me in Honam entrusts me with the responsibility and authority to develop Honam, and I will make every effort to fulfill this."
Party leader Lee also climbed Mudeungsan in Gwangju on the 1st and toured the Dadohae region in Honam from the 3rd to 4th to support candidate Yoon. After climbing Mudeungsan, Lee said, "I hope that candidate Yoon will receive more than 20% of the votes and gain broad support so that the regional political structure will be broken."

On the 3rd, at a residents' meeting near Jindo County (Gasado, Jodo, Jeodo), Lee emphasized, "If there are various difficulties faced by island residents or efforts that the People Power Party has not yet fulfilled, from today onward, I will visit more frequently and strive to resolve these issues."
The People Power Party views the sentiment in Honam positively. Kim Cheol-geun, the party leader's political affairs office chief who visited Honam with Lee, wrote on Facebook the previous day, "I am confident that the sentiment in Honam will change," adding, "However, there is a prerequisite. If we sincerely and continuously approach with humility rather than as a one-time effort, the results will be surprisingly remarkable."
