French President Macron discusses Ukraine issue with UK Prime Minister Johnson: "Maintaining dialogue is important"
[Asia Economy Reporter Park Byung-hee] French President Emmanuel Macron held a phone call with British Prime Minister Boris Johnson on the 5th (local time) to discuss the situation in Ukraine.
According to AFP, the ?lys?e Palace, the French presidential office, stated that President Macron consulted with Prime Minister Johnson and others by phone about ways to ease tensions before his upcoming visits to Moscow, Russia, and Kyiv, Ukraine, next week.
The ?lys?e Palace said, "President Macron emphasized to Prime Minister Johnson the necessity of maintaining dialogue to de-escalate the situation."
President Macron also spoke with NATO Secretary General Jens Stoltenberg and conveyed the same message, the ?lys?e Palace said.
