Second Shipment Among Them
[Asia Economy Reporter Kwon Jae-hee] On the 1st, 11,000 doses of Paxlovid, Pfizer's oral COVID-19 treatment, arrived at Incheon Airport.
On the same day, the Central Disease Control Headquarters announced that the second shipment of 11,000 doses of Paxlovid, out of the 762,000 doses purchased by our government from Pfizer, arrived at noon.
This shipment was originally scheduled to arrive on the 30th of last month but was delayed due to heavy snowfall in the northeastern United States.
So far, a total of 32,000 doses of Paxlovid have been delivered to the country in two shipments.
The number of prescriptions is still low. As of the 27th, a total of 506 patients under home treatment and those admitted to life treatment centers have been prescribed the medication.

The government has secured a total of 1,004,000 doses of oral treatments, combining 762,000 doses of Paxlovid and 242,000 doses of molnupiravir from Merck & Company (MSD).
