A man in his 40s who was digging a tunnel to repair a broken water pipe was buried under a pile of soil and died at the scene.

[Asia Economy Yeongnam Reporting Headquarters Reporter Kim Yong-woo] A man in his 40s who was digging a tunnel in his house to repair a broken water pipe died after being buried under a pile of soil.
According to the Gangseo Police Station in Busan on the 29th, at around 6:36 PM, the homeowner, Mr. A, was buried in the first-floor storage room of a three-story house in Daejeo-dong, Gangseo-gu.
Mr. A was rescued and transported to the hospital but eventually passed away.
It is known that Mr. A had been digging a tunnel for several days to repair the broken water pipe in his house, and on that day, the floor slab above the tunnel collapsed, burying him underneath.
The 119 rescue team, who responded to the report, rescued Mr. A from the soil at around 7:10 PM and transported him to the hospital, but he ultimately died.
