[Asia Economy Reporter Moon Chaeseok] SK Innovation stated during its Q4 earnings conference call on the 28th that "the battery recycling market is inevitably a growing market," adding, "Although forecasts vary by institution, it is expected to continue growing at an average annual rate of around 30% until 2030."
They continued, "By 2030, a market of 300 to 400 GWh based on end-of-life battery volume will be formed," and explained, "It is expected that a market worth more than 10 trillion KRW based on recovered metals will be established."
They also said, "Until now, the volume circulating in the market has not been large, but we expect the participation of major companies to accelerate in the future," adding, "Only companies that secure differentiated competitiveness and economies of scale are expected to survive."

Furthermore, they stated, "At the end of December last year, the mechanical completion of the end-of-life battery recycling demo plant in Daejeon was finished, and currently, we are operating key equipment before starting full operation," adding, "We expect to begin operating the facility starting next month."
