Gyeonggi-do to Recruit 5,016 New Public Officials This Year
[Asia Economy (Suwon) = Reporter Lee Young-gyu] Gyeonggi Province and its 31 cities and counties will recruit a total of 5,016 new public officials this year.
On the 28th, Gyeonggi Province announced the implementation plans for the '2022 1st, 2nd, and 3rd Open Competitive Recruitment Exams (Grades 7, 8, and 9)' and the '2022 1st, 2nd, and 3rd Career Competitive Recruitment Exams (Researcher, Instructor, Grades 7, 8, and 9)' on the Gyeonggi Provincial Government website.
According to the exam plans, the province and its 31 cities and counties will recruit a total of 4,674 candidates across 25 job categories through the open competitive recruitment exams, including 48 for grade 7 and 4,626 for grades 8 and 9. Additionally, through the career competitive recruitment exams, they will select 342 candidates in 24 job categories: 42 researchers and instructors, 25 for grade 7, and 275 for grades 8 and 9.
In particular, to expedite the reinforcement of COVID-19 response personnel, the written exam for the open competitive recruitment of nursing public officials, originally scheduled for June 18, will be moved forward to April 30.
This year, to expand public service opportunities for socially disadvantaged groups, the province will also recruit 377 persons with disabilities and 144 from low-income households. In the 3rd career competitive recruitment exam targeting graduates (or prospective graduates) of specialized high schools and Meister high schools (technical high schools), 71 technical high school graduates (or prospective graduates) will be selected.
As in the previous year, applicants cannot submit duplicate applications for local government public official recruitment exams held on the same date. For the grade 9 open competitive exam, from this year, all subjects are mandatory, and the elective subjects and adjustment (standard) score system have been abolished.
Furthermore, following the independence of personnel authority of the Gyeonggi Provincial Council on January 13 this year, recruitment for local council positions will be conducted separately by each appointing institution. Therefore, those wishing to work in local councils should carefully select the appointing institution when submitting their application.
Detailed schedules and information can be found in the exam implementation notices on the Gyeonggi Provincial Government website and the websites of the respective cities and counties.
