Lotteria, Developing Flagship Stores
[Asia Economy Reporter Moon Hyewon] Lotte GRS's Lotteria is Korea's representative franchise company that introduced the burger, the first Western-style dining culture in Korea in 1979, tailored to Korean tastes. Along with developing various new menu items, it is taking on new challenges by opening smart stores suited to the 'food tech' era, breaking the uniformity framework of franchises.
In December last year, Lotteria opened the flagship store 'L7 Hongdae Branch' as a testbed to examine the performance and effects of new technologies, products, and services.

The L7 Hongdae Branch focused on differentiating store operations by incorporating contactless ordering devices and unmanned pickup boxes applied in offline stores, as well as the popular menu item 'Hongdae Chi’S' burger. As a result, it accounted for about 10% of total product sales composition and exceeded the target sales amount by approximately 40%.
