Opening of 'Advanced Classroom' Integrating Korean ICT Technology in Serbian School

[Asia Economy Reporter Han Jinju] Pilot classrooms equipped with Korea's advanced information and communication technology (ICT) and educational equipment will be established in Serbia.
On the 25th, the Ministry of Education announced that, together with the Sejong City Office of Education and the Asia-Pacific Economic Cooperation (APEC) International Education Cooperation Center, it will establish 'pilot classrooms utilizing advanced information and communication technology (ICT)' in Belgrade, Serbia, and hold an international open forum on educational informatization over two days until the 26th.
The pilot classrooms will be created at two locations: Despot Elementary School and Philoloska Foreign Language High School in Belgrade, Serbia, equipped with electronic blackboards, laptops, smart pads, LCD TVs, and more.
Education field experts and teachers from Korea and Serbia participated in the planning and design of the advanced classrooms, which will enable multidisciplinary integrated practice and international remote exchange classes.
The project to establish and support the operation of pilot classrooms utilizing advanced ICT involves creating advanced classrooms in partner countries and providing teacher training and equipment support for five years. From 2011 to last year, a total of 26 classrooms were established in 20 countries.
About 50 people, including Jeong Byeong-ik, Director of the Lifelong Vocational Education Bureau of the Ministry of Education, Branko Ru?i?, Minister of Education, Science and Technological Development of Serbia, and students and teachers from the schools where the advanced classrooms are established, will attend the opening ceremony on the 25th.
On the 26th, an open forum will be held to share educational informatization policies between Korea and Serbia and discuss educational cooperation measures. Cases of utilizing the previously established advanced classrooms will also be shared at the forum.

Jeong Byeong-ik, Director of the Lifelong Vocational Education Bureau of the Ministry of Education, said, "We ask for continuous interest so that the Serbia advanced classrooms can further strengthen cooperation between Korea and Serbia and lead changes in the educational fields of both countries."
