Dongshin University Operates University-Linked Intensive Practical Course for High School Students
[Asia Economy Honam Reporting Headquarters Reporter Cho Hyung-joo] Dongshin University announced on the 24th that it will operate an intensive practical training course in a boarding format in university classrooms from the 24th to the 27th, a 3-night 4-day schedule, in collaboration with the Jeonnam Provincial Office of Education.
87 students from 30 high schools in the Jeonnam region will choose one subject among ▲Human Anatomy and Physiology ▲Acting (Basic Acting) ▲Music Major Practical ▲Nail Beauty (Nail Trend Technique) ▲Makeup, and receive 34 hours of intensive practical training in a boarding format.
Theory classes and practical classes are conducted simultaneously to improve students' satisfaction with the lessons.
This educational program was prepared to lay the regional foundation for the high school credit system, which will be fully implemented from 2025.
Based on the demand survey for student elective subjects, high schools, universities, and the education office collaborate to open courses, then utilize university professors, classrooms, practice rooms, and educational programs to provide various educational activities that cannot be experienced in high school.
In particular, the intensive practical training course in a boarding format is expected to help resolve educational inequality in small rural and island schools that face difficulties operating joint education programs due to the absence of nearby schools and limitations of regional educational resources, and to assist students' career paths and college admissions.
