Early Rebound in Both Markets... KOSDAQ Rises Over 1%
KOSPI Recovers to the 2850 Level
[Asia Economy Reporter Minwoo Lee] The KOSPI and KOSDAQ, which had shown a continuous downward trend recently, are rebounding in the early trading session on the 20th.
On this day, the KOSPI opened at 2842.28, the same as the previous day. By 9:24 AM, it recovered to 2852.20.
By investor type, individuals and institutions each net bought stocks worth 40.6 billion KRW and 68.3 billion KRW, respectively. Foreigners net sold stocks worth 104.6 billion KRW.
Most sectors are on the rise. The largest gains were seen in steel & metals (1.66%), medical precision (1.63%), chemicals (1.31%), and construction (1.21%). Insurance (-0.77%) and banking (-0.73%) sectors declined.
However, among the top 10 companies by market capitalization, more stocks were still down. SK Hynix had the largest drop at -1.97%. This was followed by KB Financial Group (-1.45%), NAVER (-1.05%), Samsung Biologics (-0.37%), Kia (-0.25%), and Kakao (-0.22%). Only LG Chem (2.45%), Samsung SDI (1.51%), and Samsung Electronics (0.13%) rose.
The KOSDAQ opened at 934.00, up 0.01% (0.10 points) from the previous day. It then increased further, recording 946.06 at 9:25 AM, up 1.31% compared to the previous day.
In the KOSDAQ market, foreigners and institutions net bought stocks worth 28.6 billion KRW and 21.7 billion KRW, respectively. Individuals sold stocks worth 43.3 billion KRW.
All sectors are on the rise. Many sectors rose more than 1%, including computer services (1.58%), general electric & electronics (1.56%), venture companies (1.54%), and information devices (1.50%).
Most of the top 10 companies by market capitalization are on the rise. Wemade had the largest gain at 3.79%, followed by EcoPro BM (2.96%), Pearl Abyss (2.88%), Seegene (2.77%), L&F (2.63%), HL Biopharma (2.28%), Chunbo (1.77%), and Kakao Games (1.47%). Celltrion Healthcare (-1.80%) and Celltrion Pharm (-0.45%) declined.
