Hong Jun-pyo Presents Conditions for Joining Yoon Camp: "Guarantee of State Administration Ability and Strict Punishment for Family-in-Law Corruption"
"If Two Conditions Are Met, I Will Join as an Advisory Member of the Previous Campaign Committee"
[Asia Economy Reporter Naju-seok] On the 19th, Hong Joon-pyo, a member of the People Power Party, revealed the conditions for joining the election campaign headquarters after meeting with candidate Yoon Seok-yeol. He demanded measures to guarantee national governance and a public declaration to strictly punish corruption related to the candidate's in-laws.
After the meeting with candidate Yoon, Hong made a statement through the political platform 'Cheongnyeon-ui Kkum' (Youth's Dream).
Hong said, "During a two-and-a-half-hour dinner with candidate Yoon this evening, I made two requests. First, I hope measures will be taken to guarantee the ability to govern the country and alleviate public anxiety. Second, I hope there will be a public declaration to strictly punish corruption involving the candidate's in-laws."
He added, "If these two issues are resolved, I will participate in the election team as a standing advisor to the Central Election Campaign Headquarters."
He demanded assurances that candidate Yoon, who is relatively new to politics, can govern the next administration stably, and a public promise to thoroughly address the corruption issues related to Yoon's in-laws, which have been cited as a weakness.
If these measures are implemented, he intends to join candidate Yoon's campaign and actively support the election efforts.
