Police Send 80-Year-Old to Prosecution for 'Abusing Dog Leash'
[Asia Economy Reporter Jeong Dong-hoon] An man in his 80s who abused his dog by holding its leash and lifting it into the air has been referred to the prosecution.
According to the police on the 19th, the Eunpyeong Police Station in Seoul sent Mr. A (82), who is accused of abusing a one-year-old Maltese dog by hanging it from its leash in an alley in Eunpyeong-gu on the 9th of this month (violation of the Animal Protection Act), to the prosecution on the 14th.
After a video showing Mr. A's abuse went viral online, the animal rights organization "CARE" visited Mr. A on the 10th of this month, took protective measures for the dog, had him relinquish ownership, and filed a complaint with the police.
