Jangseong-gun Accepts Applications for 'Farmer and Fisherman Public Interest Allowance' Until the 10th of Next Month
[Jangseong=Asia Economy Honam Reporting Headquarters, Reporter Jo Hangyu] Jangseong-gun, Jeonnam announced on the 18th that it will accept applications for the ‘2022 Farmers and Fishermen Public Interest Allowance’ until the 10th of next month.
Implemented since 2020, the ‘Farmers and Fishermen Public Interest Allowance’ is a project that provides local currency worth a total of 600,000 KRW to farmers and fishermen to address rural issues such as population decline and aging, and to support the sustainable development of rural areas by promoting the public interest functions of agriculture and fisheries.
Eligible applicants are heads of management entities who have registered agricultural, fishery, and forestry management information, and who have continuously engaged in agriculture and fisheries while residing in the county since before January 1 of this year.
However, those excluded from support include ▲ those with comprehensive income from non-agricultural activities exceeding 37 million KRW ▲ those who have fraudulently received subsidies such as direct payments ▲ those who have been subject to disposition under the Farmland Act or Mountainous Districts Management Act ▲ cases where the head of management and actual residents live separately but only the household is separated.
The county plans to finalize the recipients in March after deliberation and resolution by the Public Interest Allowance Committee and to provide the Jangseong Love Gift Certificates.
A county official said, “We expect that the 5.4 billion KRW scale of the Farmers and Fishermen Public Interest Allowance paid in Jangseong Love Gift Certificates will greatly help local small business owners and traditional markets,” adding, “We will strive to ensure that no eligible applicants are missed through project guidance and promotion.”
