Damyang-gun Resumes 10% Discount Sales of Damyang Love Gift Certificates, Provides 300,000 KRW Monthly Infant Allowance
For newborns born after January 1, 2022... Reducing childcare burdens
[Damyang=Asia Economy Honam Reporting Headquarters Reporter Kim Chunsu] Damyang County, Jeollanam-do announced on the 18th that it will provide a monthly infant allowance of 300,000 KRW to babies born after January 1 of this year.
The infant allowance was newly established to reduce the initial childcare burden on families with newborns and to support the healthy development and growth of children.
Families raising infants at home can receive 300,000 KRW in cash every month.
When using daycare centers or full-day childcare services, support is provided respectively through childcare fee vouchers and full-day childcare vouchers, and duplicate support is not allowed.
To receive support via vouchers, issuance of a National Happiness Card is required. If the card has already been issued due to support for pregnancy and childbirth medical expenses, it can be used without reissuance.
Applications can be submitted by visiting the local town or township office of the applicant’s address or online through the Government24 or Bokjiro websites.
Additionally, if the application is made within 60 days of birth, support is retroactively provided from the month of birth; however, if the application is made after 60 days of age, support starts from the month of application.
A county official said, “We hope that supporting infant allowances will serve as an opportunity to increase the birth rate by reducing childcare and economic burdens,” and added, “We will do our best to make Damyang a good place to have and raise children.”
◆ Resumption of 10% Discount Sales for Damyang Love Gift Certificates, Purchase Limit of 700,000 KRW per Person per Month
Damyang County has resumed special discounts on Damyang Love Gift Certificates to revitalize the local economy, which has been depressed due to COVID-19.
This special discount will continue until the budget is exhausted and offers a 10% discount. The purchase limit is 700,000 KRW per month (200,000 KRW in paper certificates, 500,000 KRW on cards).
Purchasing paper-type Damyang Love Gift Certificates and card issuance/recharging are available at 27 local financial institutions, and applicants must bring their ID in person.
If visiting financial institutions is difficult, card application and recharging can be conveniently done through the dedicated app ‘CHAK,’ and to facilitate usage, a QR system is being prepared for merchants to enable payments via the app.
Furthermore, the “Act on the Promotion of Use of Local Love Gift Certificates” is enforced to ensure healthy distribution of gift certificates, encourage local consumption, and prevent illegal distribution. Accordingly, merchants are prohibited from purchasing certificates, and exchanging gift certificates received as policy funds is also not allowed.
To this end, the county has established an integrated gift certificate management system and is fully committed to monitoring purchase and exchange records to prevent illegal distribution in advance.
