Yangju Gwangjeok-myeon 'Military Facility Protection Zone Relaxation'... Development Expectations 'Stir'
Ugori Area 30,479㎡, Controlled Protection Zone → Restricted Protection Zone
[Asia Economy Reporter Ra Young-cheol] Expectations for development are rising in the area of Gwangjeok-myeon, Yangju-si, Gyeonggi-do, following the easing of military facility protection zones.
According to the plan for lifting and easing military facility protection zones announced by the Ministry of National Defense on the 14th, 30,479㎡ of the Ugo-ri area in Gwangjeok-myeon was changed from a controlled protection zone to a restricted protection zone.
Additionally, among the 34.26 million㎡ of protection zones, the area entrusted to local governments for military consultation work such as development includes about 8.87 million㎡ on the west side of the military airfield located in Gwangjeok-myeon.
The west side of the airfield, where residential and commercial areas are densely concentrated, has been eased to a consultation entrusted zone approved by administrative agencies, allowing construction within a height of 40m without consultation with the military unit in charge of the flight safety zone.
Along with this, some parts of Ugo-ri, which were eased to a restricted protection zone, now allow the exercise of private property rights that had long been restricted.
In particular, the controlled protection zone is an area necessary for the smooth execution of military operations, protection of military bases and facilities, and the safety of local residents, where new construction of buildings has been basically prohibited, acting as a significant limiting factor for balanced regional development.
