UT to Install Motov Smart Advertising Boards on Taxi Roofs
Uti-Motov, Signs MOU for Future Mobility Innovation Project
[Asia Economy Reporter Eunmo Koo] UT, a joint venture between Uber and T map Mobility, announced on the 17th that it has signed a memorandum of understanding (MOU) with Motov, a mobility urban tech company. Motov operates a location-based media platform service that provides situational awareness advertising by installing smart media devices on taxi roof signs.
Through this MOU, the two companies will operate businesses reflecting market changes and cooperate in various business areas. Additionally, UT and Motov plan to collaborate on developing specialized services and commercialization models utilizing each company's technology and know-how, as well as promote recruitment and cooperation of business operators for strategic expansion of services.
Furthermore, as part of the MOU, UT and Motov will conduct a special franchise recruitment until the 28th of next month. Upon joining the franchise, members can receive benefits provided by UT, revenue paid according to operating hours when installing Motov's smart devices, and franchise support funds such as installation fees and deposits supported by UT and Motov. This special franchise recruitment is limited to a total of 300 individual taxis in Seoul on a first-come, first-served basis. The recruitment target will be expanded to other regions later.
Tom White, CEO of UT, said, "Through this MOU, UT will provide diverse and distinctive services considering domestic consumer needs in the rapidly changing mobility market environment. We will expand franchisee recruitment in Seoul and provide multifaceted support so that recruited franchise drivers can operate stable services, further strengthening a win-win relationship."
Im Woohyeok, CEO of Motov, stated, "This agreement is very meaningful as it creates an opportunity to develop an innovative business model to overcome difficulties in the mobility industry together with UT during challenging times. We will actively cooperate not only in expanding collaborative services but also in advancing UT’s franchise services."
