CU, 'Giant Series' Surpasses 50 Million Units Sold
[Asia Economy Reporter Yuri Kim] CU announced on the 16th that its flagship refrigerated convenience meal "Giant Series" has surpassed 50 million cumulative sales.
The Giant Series is CU's representative snack product characterized by large portions, reasonable prices, and convenient cup containers. Since 2014, CU has introduced about 10 menu items in this series, including Giant Tteokbokki, Jjolbokki, and Red Sundae.
It became the starting point of the "Modisumer" trend, where customers develop their own recipes using convenience store ready meals, by creating various "honey combination recipes" such as "Mark Set Meal" using Giant Tteokbokki and "Carabokki," which adds curry to Giant Rabokki.
Among customers who purchased the Giant Series last year, the co-purchase rate of at least one of the representative Modisumer ingredients?triangle kimbap, cheese, or hot bar?reached 70.1%. With street food becoming harder to find due to COVID-19 and the rise of home cooking, the Giant Series recorded sales growth rates of 15.6% in 2020 and 21.0% in 2021.
In line with this trend, CU renewed four products in the Giant Series?Giant Tteokbokki, Rabokki, Jjolbokki, and Red Sundae?targeting customers who enjoy the series in their own way. Reflecting customer feedback desiring spicier flavors, the spiciness level of the Giant Series was increased.

To allow customers to enjoy the products with better combinations at an affordable price, a honey combination event will be held from the 1st to the 28th of next month, offering a 600 won on-site discount on pizza cheese when purchasing any of the four Giant Series products.
