Central Region Remains Below Freezing During Day... Snow and Rain Expected in Some Areas in the Morning
Fine Dust Concentration Expected to Be at 'Moderate' Level Across All Regions
[Asia Economy Reporter Gong Byung-sun] On the 16th, snow or rain is expected nationwide in the morning.
On the 15th, the Korea Meteorological Administration forecasted that by the morning of the 16th, 1 to 5 cm of snow will fall in the inland and mountainous areas of Gangwon, 1 to 3 cm in eastern Gyeonggi, northern Chungbuk, and mountainous areas of Jeju Island, and less than 1 cm in the inland areas of the Chungcheong region (excluding northern Chungbuk), eastern Jeonbuk, and northern inland Gyeongbuk. During the same period, about 5 mm of rain is expected in the inland mountainous areas of Gangwon, and less than 5 mm of rain in the Seoul metropolitan area, Chungcheong region, Jeju Island, Jeonbuk, northern inland Gyeongbuk, Ulleungdo, and Dokdo.
After the rain or snow, cold air will descend from the north. As a result, daytime temperatures are expected to remain below 0 degrees Celsius, especially in the central region, making it cold. Morning low temperatures are forecasted to range from -10 to 4 degrees Celsius, and daytime highs from -3 to 9 degrees Celsius.
Fine dust levels are expected to be at a 'normal' level across all regions. However, the Seoul metropolitan area, Yeongseo region of Gangwon, Chungcheong region, and Honam region may experience temporarily 'bad' levels in the morning, and the Yeongnam region and Jeju region may show 'bad' levels temporarily in the afternoon.
Strong winds are expected in the mountainous areas of Gangwon, so attention should be paid to facility management and safety accidents.
