Woori Bank Issues $500 Million Foreign Currency ESG Bonds
[Asia Economy Reporter Jin-ho Kim] Woori Bank announced on the 14th that it successfully issued $500 million worth of foreign currency ESG senior bonds, driven by strong interest from global investors.
The bonds issued this time have a coupon rate of 2.00%, which is 60 basis points above the 5-year U.S. Treasury yield, and a maturity of 5 years.
Woori Bank stated that it succeeded in issuing foreign currency bonds by attracting high-quality investors such as overseas central banks, sovereign wealth funds like pension funds, and global asset management firms, based on its excellent asset soundness and financial performance.

A Woori Bank official said, "Issuing foreign currency bonds is not easy in a situation where international interest rate volatility can increase," adding, "It attracted attention as it is the first overseas foreign currency fund raising since Woori Financial Group became fully privatized."
