Jeju Fire Headquarters to Operate 'Safer Days' Until April
[Jeju=Asia Economy Honam Reporting Headquarters Reporter Hwang Jeongpil] The Jeju Fire Safety Headquarters (Chief Park Geun-oh) announced on the 13th that it is designating the second Wednesday of every month until April as 'A Good Day for Safety' and is promoting field-centered fire prevention measures with direct participation from related personnel.
'A Good Day for Safety' expands on the previously implemented traditional market store inspection day, aiming to check safety once a month not only in traditional markets but also in multi-use facilities, fire alert zones, facilities for the elderly and children, factories, and other places at risk of large fires and casualties.
On the first day, the day before, the Fire Safety Headquarters and four fire stations in the province conducted autonomous safety inspections led by store merchants in collaboration with traditional market merchant associations, focusing on major traditional markets.
Each 119 center is strengthening guidance so that related personnel can autonomously inspect and improve risk factors through fire safety education and safety consulting for high-risk fire facilities.
The Jeju Fire Safety Headquarters plans to conduct substantial events by selecting monthly key safety themes until April.
Additionally, to fundamentally prevent large fire accidents, they plan to continuously strengthen publicity so that related personnel can autonomously conduct safety inspections.
Chief Park Geun-oh said, “It is very important that the business site personnel who know the risk factors best inspect and improve vulnerabilities themselves,” and added, “We hope many residents will participate so that a new safety culture can spread through 'A Good Day for Safety.'”
