With the annual 2 million paper notices switching to electronic delivery, Gyeongbuk Province plans to improve the efficiency of local tax administration delivery tasks. They expect to provide convenience to taxpayers and save about 320 million KRW annually, which is 53.3% of the cost of paper notices.
Local tax has regulated electronic delivery methods since 2007 and implemented the electronic delivery system by establishing the Wetax system in 2014. For regular and occasional local taxes such as property tax, automobile tax, registration license tax, and resident tax, mobile electronic delivery is being promoted upon taxpayer application.
Gyeongbuk Province signed business agreements with 23 cities and counties, SCI Evaluation Information, and KakaoPay, deciding on four areas for mobile delivery targets, and will start mobile electronic delivery from January this year.
Local tax and non-tax revenue delinquency notices, local tax refunds, and automobile annual payment application guides are scheduled to be sent via the mobile messenger KakaoTalk this month.
From January, Gyeongsangbuk-do will send local tax delinquency notices, non-tax revenue delinquency notices, local tax refund applications, and annual automobile tax information via mobile.

The province will notify unclaimed local tax refunds so that residents can claim them, and will also provide individual automobile annual payment guides this year to enable taxpayers to pay taxes conveniently.
