Last Year, Global Startups Raised a Record High Investment of 738 Trillion Won

[Asia Economy Reporter Park Byung-hee] According to Bloomberg News citing research firm CB Insights on the 12th (local time), startups worldwide raised a record $621 billion (approximately 738 trillion 58.5 billion KRW) in investment last year.
The amount of investment raised by startups last year surged 111% compared to $294 billion in 2020.
Of the $621 billion, U.S. startups attracted about half, raising $311 billion. Investment was active mainly in Silicon Valley and New York. In particular, startups in Silicon Valley raised $105 billion in investment.

Last year, Asian startups secured 12,485 investment deals, surpassing the U.S. for the first time to rank first in the number of fundraising deals.
