Gyeongbuk Cheongsong-gun, Inspection of Food Manufacturing and Sales Businesses for Lunar New Year
[Asia Economy Yeongnam Reporting Headquarters Reporter Kim Gwiyeol] Cheongsong-gun, Gyeongbuk, has launched a hygiene inspection of seasonal food products such as ceremonial food items ahead of the Lunar New Year.
Cheongsong-gun announced on the 13th that it began hygiene inspections of seasonal food product manufacturing and sales businesses from January 10th to the 18th.
The county formed an inspection team of 9 members in 3 groups to conduct inspections at 26 locations, including tofu and traditional Korean sweets manufacturing and processing businesses, holiday food sales stores, and large supermarkets.
This inspection will focus on hygiene management of manufacturing and processing facilities, use and sale of raw materials and products past their expiration dates, and proper storage of raw materials and finished products.
In addition, alongside the inspection, seasonal food products will be collected and sent to the Gyeongbuk Institute of Health and Environment for testing harmful substances.
