Daewoo Construction's New CEO: 35-Year Daewoo Veteran Executive Director Baek Jeong-wan
Daewoo E&C announced on the 12th that Baek Jeong-wan, Executive Director (currently Head of the Housing Construction Business Division), has been appointed as the new CEO.
The newly appointed CEO Baek is expected to be officially appointed after the board of directors' approval following the completion of the acquisition process of Daewoo E&C by the Jungheung Group.
Daewoo E&C explained, "Baek has been appointed as the right person to strengthen business competitiveness, establish mid- to long-term strategies to secure future markets, and stabilize the organization following the acquisition."
Born in 1963, Baek graduated from Hanyang University with a degree in Architectural Engineering and joined Daewoo E&C through open recruitment in 1985. He served as the site manager for major apartment projects constructed by Daewoo E&C and was appointed as an executive of the Housing Business Division in January 2015.
Since November 2018, he has been serving as the Head of the Housing Construction Business Division. He has been recognized for his capabilities while leading Daewoo E&C’s housing business sector, which has achieved record-breaking results.
